The Knock (Part 34)

I automatically grabbed my amulet that was on my neck to make sure that it was still there and I also looked around to see what the growling noise was.I was immediately alert when I saw something in the bushes move.I woke the little boy up and asked if he had heard the noise too.He told me that he thought it was just me saying things in my sleep.I told him that I had saw something move in the brush and that we should probably go check it out.By now both the little boy and I were terrified of what could be in the brush.I of course said that we should probably calm down before we tried to attack the thing inside the brush.I kept on making sure that the thing inside the brush wouldn't attack us when we weren't paying attention.I quickly looked through the bush and moved a bunch of leaves.I saw this adorable baby kitten staring back at me.I laughed and told the little boy what we had been scared of.The little boy also laughed and said that we had probably heard the cat meowing not growling.Then all of a sudden the little boy, the kitten, and I heard a piercing scream....
